Lauren Mamaghani

Lauren Mamaghani enjoys simplifying benefits law into practical advice for clients and is passionate about helping employers and employees find shared success.

She has advised clients of all sizes, including Fortune 50 and 500 companies and multi-employer plans, on a myriad of benefits law issues. Lauren’s experience spans ERISA and IRC compliance, designing, drafting, and implementing plans, and counseling on operational compliance and fiduciary risk management. She also counsels on administrative policies and practices, benefit claims, participant communications, and service provider agreements.

Lauren has advised self-funded and insured health and welfare plans, in areas including HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, MHPAEA, and subrogation. On the retirement side, she has worked on behalf of qualified and nonqualified plans, including defined benefit and cash balance pension plans, 401(k) plans, profit-sharing plans, and ESOPs.

 

Lauren received her law and undergraduate degrees from the University of Washington. Prior to joining Boutwell Fay, she worked for an employee benefits boutique law firm and in the tax credits group of a full-service law firm. Lauren takes pride in contributing to the legal community and is an active member of the American Bar Association and Seattle Chapter of Western Pension and Benefits Council.
