2015 is a ground-breaking year for Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance. Shared responsibility penalties, measurement periods, and IRS reporting obligations all take effect this year, and each of these mandates create substantial compliance challenges for employers. Each challenge will also have a significant impact on health plan design and administration. It is essential that insurance producers understand what these ACA mandates require – as well as their real world impact – so that they can help their clients implement and plan. Producers also need to understand what their roles and responsibilities are when consulting with clients on ACA implementation and coverage options.
